When splicing cordage, it is sometimes very difficult to pull the parten through the sheath of the braid. Especially with very tightly braided, solid cordage. Even a D-SPLICER pulling fid (part no. 420256) will not always get the job done because more force is needed and/or there is not enough room. A Soft Fid is another clever innovation from D-SPLICER. Simple and effective! You first pull it through the thin Dyneema rope and then clamp the rope into the white cover. By pulling on the soft fid, the cover will tighten around the rope. See
